Introduction
At LensOnline, everything revolves around vision – and that includes individuals with impaired sight. We believe that everyone, regardless of limitations or assistive tools, should have seamless access to our online services. That is why we are committed to making our websites as user-friendly and inclusive as possible.
For us, digital accessibility is not just a requirement, but a logical extension of our care for customers. Whether you use a screen reader, work with a magnified display, or navigate using only your keyboard – we want you to find your way on our websites with ease.
We have already implemented several improvements. Going forward, we will continue working step by step toward greater digital accessibility so that everyone can find and order the right lenses without obstacles.
Legal Basis for Compliance
LensOnline strives to make its websites accessible in accordance with the European Accessibility Act (EAA), as established in Directive (EU) 2019/882 of the European Parliament and Council.
This accessibility statement applies to the following website:
These websites are intended for providing information and selling contact lenses and related products.
Compliance Status
These websites are partially compliant with accessibility requirements, as some elements do not yet fully meet the standards and are in the proces of being improved.
Non-Accessible Content
a) Non-compliance with legislation
The following issues are not yet fully resolved:
- Missing ARIA labels on some interactive elements, reducing screen reader support.
- Some buttons do not display visible focus indicators for keyboard navigation.
- Page reloads sometimes result in loss of focus.
- HTML structure is not fully semantic (HTML5), affecting assistive technology compatibility.
- Some images are missing alternative text (alt tags).
- No accessible skip links are currently available to quickly reach main content.
b) Disproportionate burden
Some improvements are not yet implemented due to their dependence on a major system update of various e-commerce platforms.
c) Content outside the scope
Older promotional banners and non-essential content (e.g. archived campaigns from 2023) fall outside of Directive (EU) 2019/882 and are not proactively updated.
